Best Toys for Girls Age 5 for 2012

If you are on the hunt for the top toys for girls Age 5 in 2012, we have some ideas that may help you. The trick to finding the perfect toys or games for girls of this age is to listen to what they want and then filter that with your ability to read reviews online and separate the junk from the treasures. We hope to be able to help you with that so you get the most for your money this Christmas.

Musical Jewelry Box

There are many different types of jewelry and music boxes out there for little girls, but you may consider this as a good gift to give.

While not really a toy, little girls can have fun playing with it, especially if they have play jewelry to put into it. On top of that, it can be a good way to get them to learn how to put their things away.

You should take your time and try to find something that is really made from wood and will last for a few years. There are quite a few cheap cardboard jewelry boxes that do not hold up well for girls of this age.

Fisher-Price iXL 6-in-1 Learning System

This is recommended for children age 3 to 6. It is not the only electronic learning toy or game system out there for girls in this age range, however.

If you want to see a list of the best tablets for kids, we have a more in depth-look over at Top Toys blog that you can check out here

This particular one is not as versatile as some of the newer ones, but it can be found for a lot lower price. (At least one of the kids tablets is priced over $300, although it's worth the money for some as it is a full fledged tablet that is safe for kids to use.) For a five year old girl, this may be more than enough to keep their interest for a while.

Top Toys for 6 Year Old Girls in 2012

We have some ideas to help you find the perfect gift for any six year old girl on your shopping list this year. There are quite a few different toys that girls of this age may want, and you can rest assured they will let you know what it is - especially if they happen to see commercials for it on television.

LeapFrog LeapPad2 Explorer Disney Princess Bundle

Available for around $130 this is a good bundle for a six year old girl if you were already going to get them a Lappad2 Explorer - which is recommended if you want to get them to stop messing with your cellphone all the time! In all seriousness, the more you can introduce your little one to electronics at an earlier age, the better they are going to be in the modern Information Age.

Jump Rope

If you are looking for a small and inexpensive gift for a girl age six years old, a classic jump rope is a good one. In addition to being relatively inexpensive - and not requiring batteries - it is also good exercise.

If girls can learn that exercise can be fun at an early age, they are going to be able to grow up healthier, which is a good thing. By buying a jump rope as a gift, you can be responsible for helping them get some exercise - if they play with it.

Alex Toys My First Sewing Kit

This is another toy around the $30 range that may be good for a girl this age. It can introduce them to sewing, something they may get into more as they get older. For the money, it's worth it to see if there is any interest in the hobby or skill.

Crayola Washable Kids Paint set of 10 Bottles

For artistic six year old girls, this is a great item from Crayola. You get all the fun of painting without all the mess - or rather, without all the stains. There may still be a mess, but it is all washable, which makes it nice. As with some of the other toys we have mentioned, this is a good way to foster an interest in art.

Two Hot Toys for 2012 Holiday Season

We are going to look at the hot toys for 2012 holiday season so that your shopping is a little bit easier. Whether you brave the crowds at the store or you are a hip parent and you do your toy shopping online, these are some of the new toys out this year.
New 2012 Furby

2012 New Furby

You may remember the first generation Furby. One of the common complaints was that you could NOT turn it off without taking out the batteries. Unfortunately, the new one is the same.

There are some differences, however. The ears are different on the new Furby as well as the fur and the eyes. The eyes are not LCD instead of the marble like eyes the first generation Furbies had when they first came out.

AT around $55 (for now) it's priced a bit higher than the Old Furby as well. Still, for some kids, it is going to be on the wishlist. There will likely be more hype around this toy in the weeks ahead, but do your own research before you buy one.

BuckleyBoo

BuckleyBoo

This amazing toy for small children comes with FREE HUGS! Okay, seriously, it's another doll, but it's kinda cute because it has so many - wait for it - buckles on the front. It should be noted that the Lion is not the only character you can get. For around $25 it's a bit expensive, but when buying toys for children, you do not want to skimp on money.

There have been some parents out there who say the buckles are a bit hard for some children. However, with practice they may become better, which is sort of the whole point of the toy, isn't it?

In any case, whether you go with the lion or one of the other characters, this is one of our picks for the top new toys of 2012.

Best Toys for 9 Year Old Girls

You can check out our top toys for girls age nine years old from all different years on this page, but we wanted to give you a simple and easy to read list of the best girls' toys this year.

Barbie Collector 2012 Holiday Doll

If you want a Barbie that will be played with, this is probably not the one you want. Having said that, there aren't many nine year old girls who will be doing a lot of playing with dolls. Still, this may make a good gift idea because it is a collectible doll that may rise in value as it gets older.

This may be a good way to introduce nine year old girls to the concept of collecting or taking care of their possessions. In any case, it comes with a red dress and typical Barbie fashion accessories. The price is reasonable, although you shouldn't expect it to increase in value overnight. Also, it is best to keep it in its box if you do plan on buying it as an investment.

This is another new Barbie toy for 2012. However, this is one that some 9 year old girls may get into. Basically, it has a camera built into the Barbie doll and it can display the photos on an LCD screen on the front - changing Barbie's t-shirt to a different design. The price is a bit high on this one in our opinion.

The other thing to think about is that this may be one of those cases where you get two things in one but neither are as good as they could be. For example, there are a lot better choices for cameras out there and also better choices of Barbie dolls. Although this may become collectible, so like the doll above it may be a good investment lesson type of gift for a 9 year old girl.
